Launiupoko Beach Park

Mile 18
Kai Heleku & Honoapiilani
Lahaina, HI

This is a great little seaside park with a gorgeous view across Lahaina Roads to the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i, and it's also a popular destination for surfers when the waves are up. Unfortunately, much of the shoreline in this section has been "protected" or "stabilized" with seawalls and revetments ... a strategy that inevitably causes beaches to be washed away. Still, this is a good park for picnics, and for whale watching in the winter season.

Oneloa Beach, Makena "Big Beach"

Known to the locals as "Big Beach", it is often designated as THE beach to visit. At two-thirds of a mile long, and approximately 100 yards wide, this beach is very popular on the weekends. A great place to snorkle, body board, and swim. Portable restrooms, picnic tables, and paved parking is available.

Spreckelsville Beach

Spreckelsville is a fantastic spot for advanced windsurfers. Located just before the Paia Town, this is the spot to see windsurfing at its best. Waves can get upwards around 20 feet in height, and the wind can blow pretty good. But the display of windsurfing skill is well worth it.
