WINDSURFING LESSONS

Whether this is your first experience with windsurfing or your first screaming laydown jibe, EXTREME SPORTS MAUI invites you to join us for an incredible adventure.

We offer our instruction in a semi-private format for several reasons... first, of course is value! You get professional instruction for less than $30 per hour. Next, it allows us to offer a longer lesson, giving you more time to absorb and practice new skills. Third, we find that many students benefit from having a classmate; they learn from each other. Finally, it's FUN learning with a partner! (PS: If you want private lessons, no problem... they're also available.)

LONG BOARD PROGRAM

Lesson prices include special easy-to-learn-on equipment, rigged and ready at the beach. Lessons begin with a complete and easy to understand ground school, followed immediately by on-water instruction using our original instructor-to-student radio communication system. Special kids' rigs available! The longboard program is available daily (except Sunday) at 9:00am.

Level 1: Novice - First time? Or first time in a long time? Yes, you can be sailing back and forth across Maui's beautiful waters in just one lesson!

Level 2: Intermediate - The perfect class if you're a longboard sailor who has not experienced Maui's stronger winds or needs to solidify your sailing technique. For those who are ready, learn the harness, beachstarts, and longboard jibes. An excellent class to ready yourself for waterstarts.

SHORT BOARD PROGRAM

Never more than two students per instructor. You are guaranteed all the attention you'll need for success! Equipment is NOT included with short board lessons, and must be rented separately.

Level 1: Waterstart - Stop uphauling and open the door to the world of short boards! Learn the best and easiest method to get underway in high wind conditions. Most of our students waterstart in their FIRST lesson!

Level 2: Short Board Sailing Techniques - Learn to make that short board perform like it was meant to! Covers harness and footstrap technique, closing the gap, sailing efficiently and staying upwind. Prepare for the word "SPEED" to take on new meanings!

Level 3: Jibing - It CAN be done! Learn to maintain speed going into the carve, footwork, the proper sail flip, and how to carry the plane through the turn.

Level 4: Adanced Jibes - Time to show off! Learn techniques for keeping more speed, duck jibes or laydowns.

Level 5: Wave Sailing - Welcome to the world of wave sailing! Start with safety and etiquette, then work your way from simple survival to bashing the lip (as far as your nerve and experience will take you).
