Experts only! For those that do not have experience in big waves, the conditions can be dangerous. The currents and rocky coastline are not very friendly and the waves break in 2-4 feet of water with a sharp reef on the bottom. For advanced sailors, the quality of waves and consistency of wind make Hookipa the world's premiere wave sailing location. From October to April it is not uncommon to see waves mast high or higher.
REMEMBER: Surfers enjoy Hookipa also, and always have "right-of-way".
