I always teach my students to be aware of the ocean, the currents, its power, and to appreciate its beauty. I always teach my students the rules of the waves, to be courteous to other surfers, and to treat everyone like I'd like to be treated. In addition, I like to make sure that the ocean and its surroundings are just the same, or better, because of me – I can always pick up rubbish, or clean up after myself, and definitely keep my feet off the reef (it's the home of our food supply!).
