    "My family and I used to spend weekends fishing on the reef. I would lay net way out on the fringing reef at dusk, and in the morning, after a breakfast of apple bananas, guava juice and roasted octopus, I would swim out and bring in the bounty of lobster, crab, squirrelfish, and the occasional trophy, like Lani's moano kea. This was the only one we ever caught, and the biggest I've ever seen. Lani  dedicated herself to caring for this delicacy. She stuffed it like a turkey with mayo, Portuguese sausage and onions, and roasted it for Thanksgiving. She is the centerpiece for the fishing women series, between Wahine o ke Kai and One Uhu for U'ilani."  -Michael Stark
