To unsubscribe, send mail to majordomo@newciv.org with message body "unsubscribe celestine-L" (without quotes). (Note: Turn off your "signature" if you have one.) If you have trouble unsubscribing, please check your address carefully to make sure you are unsubscribing from the same account number you subscribed with. Some mailers (Netcruizer and some others) insert the current machine into the address and return path. If you're logged on at a different node on the network, you will have a different address. Please do not mail the list itself (your unsubscription request would be mirrored to nearly 250 people).
- Is there a digest available? Unfortunately, a digest is no longer available. With the volume of the list, the digest was putting to much strain on the server and the server's administrator was forced to remove it.
- Who is the List Administrator? DeborahJo Crump. You may email her at sfcpkzzf@scfn.thpl.lib.fl.us.
- Are there any requirements to be on the Celestine Prophecy Mailing List? There are no requirements. An informal practice is to write a short introduction to the list in which you may tell how you came to read The Celestine Prophecy. A housekeeping request is that messages should be of interest to the entire list. Unless your response is something that we would all benefit from, it is really best to respond to people privately.
- When I am replying to a post, how much of the original post should I copy?Copy only those parts that you are replying to, and "snip" (delete) the remainder. The purpose of including part of the original post is to provide continuity and a frame of reference. Too much takes up space and download time.
- What is the purpose of the Celestine Prophecy Mailing List? The mailing list is for the discussion of the principles presented in the book The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield, and their application to your own life.
- How was this list created? Flemming Funch of New Civilizations Network became aware of an interest in a mailing list for The Celestine Prophecy. After searching for a mailing list, and not finding one, he asked Joachim Steingrubner, who owns and runs the newciv.org server, to house the list. On August 8th, 1995 the list was created. Special thanks go out to Max J. Steingrubner-Sandor and NewCiv.Org who provide this list free of charge.
- Is The Celestine Prophecy fact or fiction? It is fiction. It is generally felt by the people on this list that James Redfield synthesised several known insights into the format of a parable to reach a larger audience.
- Does the Manuscript really exist? It would be nice to think that the Manuscript exists on some level, but it is generally felt that it is part of the parable.
- Is James Redfield on the mailing list? Although JR is aware of the existence of the mailing list, he does not participate on the list. We do not know if he listens (lurks) on the list or has someone monitor it on his behalf.
- Is anyone working the exercises of the Experiential Guide online? Yes, NewCiv.Org maintains several mailing list dedicated to working the exercises found in The Experiential Guide. To keep things running smoothly, the lists are kept small. For more information and to get on the waiting list for an EG mailing list, send a message to eg-requests@newciv.org to get on the list.
- What do all the abbreviations mean? TCP is The Celestine Prophecy
CP is Celestine Prophecy
EG is Experiential Guide
TTI is The Tenth Insight
JR is James Redfield
FB is Fluffy Bunny
CD is Control Drama- Speaking of Fluffy Bunnies, what does that mean? Apparently, a long time ago some arrogant, jumped-up idiot came onto the list, lurked for a while and the "superflamed" all the nice people on the list, accusing them of being a bunch of "fluffy bunnies" who had no real focus on the world, and hid away on this group. The sweet folk on the list certainly knew how to handle him. They bundled all their energy and sent a beam of power at him which fried his brain. Apparently, the term was also gleemed from the Peanuts many years ago. Since then, the term has been adapted to mean "us".
- What is the TCP map, where is it, and how do I get on it? One of our members, Pierre Berrigan, has a world map which pinpoints the location of list members. It may be seen at http://www.newciv.org/TCP/tcpmap.htm. To have your location pinpointed on the map, email Pierre at berrigan@quebectel.com, giving him your location and gender.
- What is the Cybrary? Because there are so many great books out there, and titles and authors are so often mentioned in posts, we have compiled a listing of them. We call it The Celestine Cybrary. In it, you will find everything from Deepak Chopra to Starbird. You'll find books on energy and healing to books on the Dead Sea Scrolls and books on the major religions. You can view this list here.
- Where else can I find The Celestine Prophecy discussed on the Internet? Sandy Shaw's Celestine Home Page, The Celestine Prophecy at NewCiv and Time Warner's pages in Pathfinder are a couple of links to assist you in your study of TCP.
- What is the list's policy on Chain Letters? Basically, no chain letters! Chain letters are unwanted by members of the list. They are unrelated to the topic of CP and clog mail boxes. Also, many people are superstitous and do not the burden of such a message.
