This sea cucumber has just ejected the Cuverian organs come out of it's cloaca or anus. These tubules are sticky threads that act as a means of defense. They spring forth when the sea cucumber senses danger(from too much handling in this case). The tubules stick fast to the aggressor and the cucumber slowly moves away.
