NIYASO CHRISTINE CARTER
Niyaso Christine Carter has been working as a counselor and international workshop leader for 17 years. She is based on Maui, Hawaii.
Her work is a synthesis of her eastern training in meditation, tantric practices and yoga and of western humanistic therapies and teachings including inner child, codependence, grief & trauma work, movement therapy, breathwork and energy work. In the early '90 she co-created along with Alan Lowen the Body, Heart & Soul workshop series and helped develop the Body Heart & Soul two year professional training. Niyaso was a long-time disciple of Baghwan Shree Rajneesh, now known as Osho, she learned traumahealing through the the work of Peter Levine, and more recently her work has been influenced by the work of David Deida and the family constellation work of Bert Hellinger. Her work with sexuality has been shaped as well by the teachings of Australian teacher Barry Long. She is a licensed Avatar trainer (a technique for conscious creating) and an experienced bodyworker. Niyaso was co-creator of the best-selling educational video "The Secrets of Sacred Sex", a film that teaches couples how to transform sex into a truly intimate, fulfilling and spiritual experience. In her work with relationships and sexuality she stresses the need for integration of the spiritual eastern tantric and taoist approaches to sexuality with the western approaches relating to psychological healing and relationship skills. Her work was featured on national TV in Australia, on the HBO series Real Sex, in the documentary film Sacred Sex, and in numerous magazine articles. She regularly conducts workshops for women focused on healing, awakening and celebrating their innate powers and unique feminine qualities.
