Maui's agricultural community is diverse and productive, reflecting our island's proud heritage.   From the largest modern plantations to dozens of small family farms, Mauians produce a surprising variety of food and floral products.

From our world-famous premium pineapple to the unique and other-worldly protea, Maui's Agriculture affects many segments of our daily lives and economy.  Farming plants the seeds of a healthy economy from the smallest to the largest of Maui's industries.  Farmers provide Island Fresh  food, flowers, and foliage,  jobs;  and, support a variety of "agri-businesses":  seed companies, equipment suppliers, chemical-environmental products, transportation, food-processors, financial and professional services.

Agriculture on Maui helps preserve our open spaces, providing the lush countryside appreciated by both residents and visitors alike.  As the caretakers of Maui's precious environment, farmers play an important part in our visitor industry.
