Aloha,
After about 16 months I have finished building my first wooden boat. She's called "Yatsman". Named after my family members J & J Yatsunoff. Without them and my friend Mark Denzer, the boat would be still dancing around in my brain somewhere. I built her for the experience of it. It is in general far too windy here on Maui to sail such a craft, so I would like to see her go to good sailing home.

I "stuck to the funny papers" building her, so it should easily pass class inspection. She's built tough, hence a bit on the heavy side, around 100 pounds. West System Epoxy, marine grade 1/4" plywood and mahogany comprise the boat. She has a windsurfer carbon fiber mast and a new dacron (KevlarĘ reinforced) sail made by Tom Andrews of Ulmer Kolius Sails on Oahu.

Mark is a very experienced sailor and indicated on her maiden sail that she is very well balanced "right out of the box". I spent a lot of time gathering information on the net about the relationships of mast position, dagger board and mast rake. She's not a museum piece, but I am very happy the way she turned out.

I have taken pictures since I started the project to document my experience. These would be available to any buyer if they want them.
