Writing 2004 Frivolity

You may want it like it use-ta-be

but you’ll find it’s gon-na-be

the way it is for now

out of your hands

and not the way you wan-it-ta-be

You used to have it your way

but now you’re in a different house

where others are in charge

with their own way of doin’ it

You might as well enlarge

your concepts of how it’s gonnabe

Enjoy every day

life’s too short to squabble

about a bunch of trivia

trying to make life more livable

when all you need to do

is like it where you are

with what there is to see

It’s not so bad if you will look for good

and accept the status quo

as a way to follow

and the only way to go

Happiness is built of little things

that don’t need domination

of your thinking imposed on others

to provide a life of joy

Find happiness where you are

with what there is to see

and inside the circle of your living

you’ll find peace and harmony

You may want it like it usetabe

but you will find it’s gonnabe

out of your hands

with other plans, maybe

not the way you wantittobe

WIND

Leaves are blowing,. leaves are flying.

I cannot see you, where are you, wind?

Sometimes you come from the east

sometimes from the west

or maybe north or south

which way is best?

Capricious wind, you keep me guessing

awesome in your moods

gentle you may be

or pushing and forceful

with your energy

that can bring to nothing manmade

structures, turn them into sticks

You fool with

unexpected turns and tricks

often you give warnings

of what will come to pass

Man may try to outwit you, wind,

but your pace is what will last

in your capricious way

doing as you please

dancing, in an easy waltz or frenzied

race that brings man to his knees

with your moody temperament

Wind, I cannot see you

but I feel you, keeping me in line

of knowing you’re the one

in control, defining my limits

Let me enjoy your moods

thank you for keeping me cool

while realizing the importance

of your unpredictable moody

sometimes playful rule

Wind, I see what you do

I know your effects. I feel you

NATURE-NESS

Rain, rain, why do you stay?

Why don’t you quit and go away?

You fill the streams and rivers

and then you overflow

if man has changed the pattern

of how the streams should go

You sometimes keep on falling

sometimes fast, sometimes slow

until man gets the point

that he should reconsider

the steps that he is taking

in diverting nature to suit

a path of his own making

When nature is disrupted

from naturalness

it is called a flood

and man is devastated

thinks that it’s not good

if possessions are destroyed

Man should have learned long ago

that nature is no toy

to push and pull

to suit his fancy

Changing nature sometimes works

perhaps, but in the end

rain and nature have their way

and man begins another day

of trying to rebuild

defying signals loud and clear

that say, live with nature’s patterns

What a waste of time

and energy too

when man won’t listen

Just flow with nature

and nature will be good to you

Hereness

Infinity is here for the taking

Our own private world is in the making

However we choose

however we go

we can push, we can pull

we can go with the flow

we can stay in the dream

we can feel the awakening

we can settle and slide

we can close our eyes tight

try to hide from the bright shining light

Whatever we see, wherever we go

we’re in the center of all we accept

and explore and know
