The road to Hana was breathtakingly beautiful and interesting. It takes a full day and I would recommend starting out very early in the morning. There are stands along the way where you can buy snacks and souveniers. There are a few beaches you can spend some time at and beautiful sights all along the way. We didn't take in all the sights and the trip still took us a good 8 hours. I will definitely go again on the road to Hana and see the sights we missed this time.
The road to hana? Forget about it! It's one of the most gorgeous scenic situations on Maui. There are waterfalls and cliffs and tropical rainforests and all kinds of other things. It even smells good.
Taking a tour is fine but think about this. If you gotta go potty
or If you get car sick easily like i do then you don't want to be in a small bus. Also, you'll want to be able to stop anywhere you want at any time to take pictures of things. I do not recommend taking a tour to Hana. Do it yourself.
Then you can get that "i survived the road to hana" T-shirt and not the "I survied letting someone else take us on the road to hana" T-shirt :p
