Temptation Tours - Summit Lavender

I thought this might be a tour only woman would enjoy, but I was wrong, as the two couples the men seemed to enjoy this tour in different ways than the women. We started off in Paia for a nice continental breakfast, then drove thru Makawao, and up to the Haleakala. This is a great time to do this tour, with the Jacaranda tree's in full bloom, the pastures as green as I've ever seen them, and this is a great tour for photographers too.

The Crater was interesting, one minute clear, the next filled with clouds, but it added to the mystery of the closest substance to the moon on earth. After view Science City, and learning a bit more about this marvel, we made several other stops at turn outs on the way down the crater. We then went to the Lavender Farm, which again has so much to film, and Temptation Tours picnic tables reserved for them, which is where we had lunch. Over looking South Maui, and at about 3,000 feet, this is a very peaceful spot. We toured the farm, went into the gift shop, and met the owners. Ed our guide also pick fresh lavender for the ladies to take home with them. Next we went to the Winery, and again with the lush green hills, horses grazing up country and everything in bloom, you just felt like you were on an old county road, miles away from everything, so it's a great escape. The winery is also kept up well and we did a little wine tasting. The wine was different and unique, and our bubbly hostess said about the pineapple wine

Next, we went to the Kula Lodge and walked around a bit, saw the view and again it looks great this time of year. A nice touch was the bouquets of Flowers that Ed presented the Ladies with, from the gift shop. Last, we went into Makawao and we given about 40 minutes to look around. I check out the unique galleries and a really cool glass blowing shopping. With only 6 of us, this tour felt private, easy to meet everyone, and a off the beaten path.
