Maui--Scuba Diving in Paradise
This is a Blog about scuba diving and other water activities on the island of Maui by Michael Elam, PADI Divemaster. I have done hundreds of dives on Maui since moving here 5 years ago. I’ve dived here just about every way you can think of: from sandy shores, giant-striding off of lava rocks, from boats and kayaks, on scooters, using rebreathers, and even once from a Hawaiian outrigger canoe. I’ve dived at sites all around the island of Maui as well as many times at nearby Molokini Crater and Lanai.
One of the highlights of living on Maui is the diving on extensive coral reefs with lots of sea turtles, sharks, rays and other interesting endemic life on the reefs.
A bit about my background. My career on the mainland was selling software used by web site developers to build e-commerce web sites. I know quite a bit about the underlying technology of the Internet and I have built and published web sites in the past. So this Blog will allow me to combine my love of diving and the Internet. Very cool!
I don’t intend to have a particular theme so this Blog will document my diving experiences and I will include everything I know and that I can find that is interesting about being in and on the water on Maui.
