the LDS (mormon) church's lesser known landmarks, Pulehu Chapel in Kula. Built in 1850 or so it is the oldest LDS church building still standing in Hawaii, and one of the first permanent structures built by the church in Hawaii. This historical landmark was shown to me by a friend. the chapel is open to the public during the day. It is a quiet and peaceful place. The original building was completed in 1851, and was restored a few years back. Please be respectful while visiting the chapel and grounds, as it also houses the church's missionaries. Unless the gate is actually padlocked, you are welcome to lift the U shaped latch and enter the grounds.
