Mini vacation in Kihei
We just had a weekend kamaaina's vacation in Kihei. That's all time and money would allow, wish it could have been longer. We had a suite at the Maui Coast hotel which was great especially with the kamaaina rate. There was no view but the room was large, clean and comfortable. My wife and I had the king size bed while our little boy slept on the sofa that converts to a bed in the other room. He loved his "secret" bed.
Two days doesn't allow for too much activity, just the hotel pool and boogie board practicing at Kamaole beach in Kihei. The water was warm enough that we could go right in instead of taking 15 minutes to acclimate.
I recommend Stella Blue's for breakfast, it was so good we went both mornings. Greek food for lunch and Outback and some Italian restuarant next to the police station in Kihei for dinner, all good.
The only issue is not too much to do for a 6 year old in Kihei though, can't stay on the beach all day. But for a two day Maui vacation for a little over $200 , we can't complain...
