Last night a the meeting at cameron center, I heard all the idiots come out of the woodwork. The selfishness of all the people that were against the harbor expansion was just so comical.

The reason that the state wants to expand the harbor is for SAFETY REASONS and to ASSIST againsts Maui's ever-so-increasing cost of living.

1) The Harbor is being utilized more and more each year. That is a fact and that is not something that is going to change. The more people have babies and the more people move here, the more that harbor will be used. At some point, it will overflow, an accident will happen and someone or some people WILL DIE. Do you want to be responsible for that? I've already seen the close calls. It's dangerous there. YOU DON'T KNOW because YOU do not think. You who complain are SELFISH and are only thinking of YOURSELVES.

2) It would impact the environment? If you're SO concerned about impacting the environment, then I, as an active member OF the surfrider foundation and greenpeace wonder WHY you folks suggested that these facilities be moved to maalaea and or lahaina where "The toursts want to go anyway?". That's just stupid. ALSO, do you folks realize that the population of turtles is no different around the waters of O'ahu with it's huge harbors, military installtions, development, progresss, intelligent people? No, you don't due to the latter reason.

3) Pretty much all of you complain about the cost of living. Well sorry but you can't complain about both. The cost of living is because of Maui's expansive growth with no facilities to compensate for this grown and that's what the state is trying to do. You fight for the harbor yet in ten years what's the point? You'll have to move to Oregon because you can't afford to live on Maui anymore. You don't make enough money with your lack of education, the lack of jobs, the extremely high cost of living, and especially, your ignorance will ultimately drive you elsewhere. "yeah right". Yeah right? You have family that have already done it. It's no joke so don't fricken joke about it. You folks complain about all the "Haoles" moving here well guess what: They have just as hard a time as the locals. In fact, one of my good friends recently moved back to the mainland because he just couldn't make it here (also because of the bad atittudes here - yes, the people of maui have BAD attitudes. I know. I'm one of them) Learn.

3) Surfers continue to say "the ocean is for everyone". And again I re-iterate: The ocean is for everyone.........unless you are not a surfer. Hypocritical thought processes seems to be the way that this island collectively makes decisions when addressing issues. Surfers: are you selfish pricks? Yes. The argument was that the expansion of the harbor will take away from one of the best surf spots on the north shore. SO GO SURF SOMEPLACE ELSE. Get plenny spots. Don't complain that a surf spot......that was CREATED by the STATE, is being REMOVED by THE STATE and don't kid yourself. Those spots are not natural. Also, how the HELL do you know that the expansion will not create new spots? EH? You don't. You know WHY you are complaining about harbor's being removed? Here's why: Let's face it. MAUI SUCKS when it comes to surf spots. Yep. IT SUCKS. Trade winds blow the crizzap out of everything on the north shore most of the year. That's not the state's fault. It's YOUR fault for surfing and complaining about it. Protected spot? Gimme a break! Protected. When I heard that I laughed out loud. Yeah that was me. Anyone that knows anything about surfing knows that harbors is no more protected than sand piles to hookipa. The trade winds buss it all up just like every other spot. When harbors is nice and clean that means that there's KONA WINDS and uhh DUHHHHH......the rest of this side will be sweet as a result. Get a damned grip on reality unless you LIKE surfing in crap mushed out junk. That's all you then, bu. Rock on with your *cough* "bad self".

4) Whales: Wow brah. I don't remember the last time I saw a whale prancing on the north shore. SO how the HELL is it going to affect them? Are you people retarded? Whale accidents happen because of SMALL BOAT TRAFFIC. Large vessels like cargo ships and cruise liners are too SLOW to do anything to a whale. They also have million dollar sonar arrays that help them to AVOID such situations unlike......small boat traffic which again.........is the cause...............of pretty much all.................whale accidents. I absolutely LOVE all the lies and unintelligent speeches that people brought forth.

The ONLY valid arguments came from the canoe hales, the old timers that cruise on the west bank, and the small boaters that will lose their ramp. THEY are the ONLY folks that have VALID reasons to protest. The surfers are being selfish children and the green parties are just sticking their nose into things to ACT like they care. What this does is to promote themselves which in turn (They hope) generates more membership. Memberships that cost hmmmm. MONEY. See through the bullsht folks.

Summary. If you complain about gas prices, the cost of living, the cost of goods, etc then DON'T complain about the harbor expanse because that's what it's also designed to help alleviate. Move some place else. There's lots of great places to move with lots of surf spots with a lower cost of living. If surfing is your ONLY concern, as SO many of you have more than apparently made clear, then fricken MOVE and let the rest of us make sure that our KEIKI don't have to hear people complaining all the time about why mommy and daddy cannot afford to buy them all their school supplies or the new clothes they need for school this year because of the cost of living.

We must do everything we can to help Maui's economy so our children do not have to suffer. Surfers and Greenheads: do you want our children to suffer?

I didn't think so. Use your minds for once. If you are against the harbor expanse then be against it for the RIGHT reason(s). The canoe hales, the old folks shack, and the small boaters. Don't be in it for your selfishness.
