9th International Shoebox Sculpture Exhibition

November 6 - December 21 2008

A popular exhibit demonstrating how artists creatively handle the challenge of space and scale dictated by the size of an ordinary shoebox. Featuring dozens of small sculptures by artists from Hawai`i and around the world, organized by the University of Hawai`i Art Gallery. The 9th International Shoebox Sculpture Exhibition is organized by The University of Hawaii Art Gallery and supported in part by a grant from the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.

Art Galleries: Upcountry

If you want to take a little bit of the beauty of Maui home with you, stop by this open-air gallery. Artist Sherri Reeve grew up in Hawaii (the local phone book featured her art on the cover one year), and she has captured the vibrant color and feel of the islands.
