The Medium, the Mystic and the Physicist -- Toward a General Theory of the Paranormal - Lawrence LeShan, Ph.D.
A rigorous, scientifically documented study of the worldview of mediums
(sensitives), mystics and Einsteinian physicists, showing how all three
agree on another way of experiencing "reality", distinct from our normal
every-day experience of it through sensory modes of perception. LeShan
terms their shared worldview the "Clairvoyant Reality". Its key element of
organization is a knowing that everything exists as a part of a unified
whole (All That Is). In this view of reality, all time is now, and "good"
and "evil" as value judgements do not exist since all things simply "are".
In the Clairvoyant Reality, information received through non-sensory modes
is the norm and not the exception.
LeShan concludes his work with a scientific experiment on psychic healing
as a demonstration of what is possible when one experiences the Clairvoyant
Reality with the intention of healing another person. In his experiment,
LeShan identifies the ability to "join and become one with the healee" as
the key to one form of psychic healing, and goes on teach himself to do
this and later, to train others in the techniques as well. For anyone
seeking scientific "proof" of some of the more theoretical concepts
presented in TCP (particularly the Fifth Insight and self-healing as presented in The Tenth Insight) this book is certainly a good start.
