The Hundredth Monkey - Ken Keyes.

The idea of The Hundredth Monkey is raising our collective consciousness to a higher level; it's about a research project in the 1950's where colonies of monkeys on different islands were given dirty coconuts (or something like that). One monkey figured out how to wash them first, and taught others in his "tribe." But once a critical number had learned, suddenly they all were doing it, even on different islands where no previous washing was observed. Taking this universal mind concept to the next level, author Ken Keys uses this analogy to discuss the harms of nuclear war, and how if enough of us are aware of its horrors, then eventually we'll reach the critical number and suddenly we'll all know how horrendous it would be.
