Saturday, January 20
Maui hosts the Best of the best collegiate all-star players in the 55th anniversary of this premier football game. Admission. War Memorial Stadium, Wailuku. Kickoff 3 pm.
Friday/Saturday, January 26 - 27
Lahaina town welcomes the lunar New Year with colorful lion dances at the Wo Hing Temple, and firecrackers. On Friday, the lions visit the shops. On Saturday, 6 to 9 pm, the 800 block of Front Street is closed to vehicle traffic for an exciting street fair.
Saturday/Sunday, January 27 - 28
At the Lahaina Cannery Mall, Maui's hula halau (schools) share in the spirit of Hawaiiana song and dance for two days. Award categories include: Best costume, Sharing the Aloha Spirit, and Best Overall. Honoapiilani Hwy., Lahaina.
Wednesday, February 28 - March 7
Celebrate the annual migration of the pacific Humpback Whales with special guest Jean Michel Cousteau, who leads whale watching, sailing, diving tours, and a beach clean-up. Enjoy Ocean Arts Festival and marine biologist slide shows.
Saturday, March 17
The 5k Fun Run/Walk begins and ends at Whalers Village in Kaanapali. The fun starts at 8:00am, over 800 participants are expected. For more information call 808 871-6441.
Sunday, March 18
The 26.2 mile course from Kahului to Kaanapali is recognized as one of the 10 most scenic marathons in the nation. Begins at 5:30am and finishes with festivities at Whalers village, over 3,000 runners from all over the world are expected. For information please call 808 871-6441.
Saturday, March 24 - Sunday, March 25
Canoe races and beach volleyball! Two events are planned for Saturday at Whalers Village beach: an 11 mile one person canoe race and The Eyecatcher Maui Invitational Volleyball Championship. Sunday features a sailing canoe race to Oahu. For more information please call 808 524-3551 or 524-6677.
Saturday, May 12 - May 28
Honors the voyaging canoe that united all of Polynesia. Master carvers create canoes for two weeks in Lahaina. Traditional 'awa ceremony at beach opens, plus cultural arts performances; lu'au. The Keiki Fishing Derby is being cancelled this year due to redesigning of youth and community programs.

A colorful float parade at 10am features Pa'u riders on horses decorated with island flowers, honoring Hawaii's great king. This free concert showcases many of Hawaii's finest musicians in the art of Hawaiian slack-key guitar playing. Under the stars at Lahaina Library's oceanfront lawn from 6pm to 10pm.

A wide variety of family activities take place all day in the resort, including live entertainment for kids and movies for adults, face-painting, and a fabulous free fireworks display over the ocean at 8:15pm. Ride the evening sugar Cane Dinner train for a delicious, deluxe view of the fireworks display.

Celebrate the "sweetie" Maui Onion with fun, food and cooking demos, onion eating contests, amateur and Chef cooking competitions, elegant Maui Onion dinner, and music. Whalers Village at the Kaanapali Resort; Free admission.

Maui's largest culinary festival celebrates 10 showing the County's new and popular restaurants. The Lahaina Town Halloween event brings 30,000 revelers to Front Street, which is closed to vehicle traffic from 4pm to 2am. Annual children's costume parade opens; crafters, activities, live music and dancing all night. Costume contests with prizes. Catch the Sugar Cane Ghost train at the Lahaina and Kaanapali station.
Friday/Saturday/Sunday, November 9-11
Maui's only children's solo hula competition. Festival includes workshops on chant and hula, arts and crafts demo's, and entertainment at the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. Admission.
November 19-21 & 27-28
Top college basketball teams from around the nation vie in this pre-season classic tournament held at the Lahaina's Civic Center. Hosted by Hawaii's Chaminade University, Women's collegiate teams follow after Thanksgiving. For tickets, call (312) 755-3507.
Saturday/Sunday, December 1-2
Lahaina Town showcases the island's tropical and protea flowers, along with Maui art, holiday crafts, and Christmas lights on the Banyan Tree. Floral Workshops, decorations, live entertainment.

Maui County students from K - 12th grade sing their hearts out in traditional Hawaiian songs, which raises scholarship funds. Maui Marriott Ballroom, 8:30am, $2.00 Admission. Paid Parking. High schoolers exhibit original artwork. Hawaiian theme.

A morning of Holiday fun, activities and entertainment with Santa Klaus and the Sugar Cane Train. Mele Kalikimaka!
